„In order to achieve the global energy transition, all talents are needed. However, structural and economic barriers still exist for women to enter the sector and to occupy decision making positions. The still male dominated energy sector needs committed people from all areas (politics, business, civil society and academia) to come together and work towards a truly gender-equal and just energy transition.
This BETD Side Event seeks to bring together representatives from different countries and areas of expertise to shed light on the different approaches for women empowerment and gender mainstreaming and to identify common solutions, possible synergies and further needed action.
This “Women Energize Women” BETD side-event is implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) in collaboration with The Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET). It takes place within the scope of the global project Bilateral Energy Partnerships and Dialogues.“
