Mobilize
In order for Nike to create a business environment where growth can be decoupled from constrained resources Mobilize is set up to engage key business, sustainability and citizen constituents in the design of new ways of doing business. This includes a focus on collaboration, partnerships and open innovation to remove system barriers to sustainable growth and to catalyze innovation levers to take sustainability to scale. Such interventions ought to strengthen our business model resilience, reduce the cost of compliance and open a space for disruptive innovation.
Job Purpose:
To enable Nike’s sustainable business growth and innovation and to enhance Nike’s reputation and credibility by mobilizing relationships, partnerships, and engagements with non-governmental organizations (NGO), policy makers, and industry leaders.
Be first point of contact for communications with businesses, government and NGOs in relation to specific environmental issues or relevant projects.
Develop and manage communication strategy alongside the communications team to support stakeholder engagement.
Work closely with the Stakeholder Mobilization Director to support stakeholder engagement in key system innovation projects.
Work as part of a network of Nike stakeholder engagement practitioners addressing social and environmental issues across key geographies.
Capacity building. Co- develops capacity building approach to assist the business in embedding and managing specific stakeholder engagement activities.
Manage existing relationships with BICEP, The Climate Group and WWF. Co-ordinate with Climate and Energy Operations director and cross functional climate team to develop future stakeholder engagement strategy.
Support Stakeholder Mobilization Director and Nike do Brazil team in taking Mata No Peito project to scale (sustainable forestry and livelihoods.)
Manage stakeholder feedback and input to reporting process as required by the CR report team.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in related field. International experience is a bonus.
Ten years experience in corporate responsibility, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and in-depth engagement with business on environmental sustainability.
Proven capability of high-quality, high-volume delivery with little supervision.
Highly organized, self-starter who can prioritize among many competing work demands the critical stakeholder engagement needs.
Superlative communication skills, written and oral, and inter-personal skills. Ability to communicate with all levels: including senior political or business executives.
Excellent networks in the non-governmental organizations (NGO), academic and government sectors.
Ability to manage confrontation and to build partnerships.
