RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the Carters Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to include the following initiatives:

  • Drive the factory audit and corrective action process to ensure compliance with Carters CSR policy and minimize the risk for the organization through the management of various third-party vendors.
  • Ensure that the Carters CSR program is kept current for all regulations and market trends. Study, research and report on CSR trends, policy and competitive best practices in order to identify program gaps and business or legislative trends that could shape the program.
  • Develop, implement and oversee audit and compliance forms/tools (including department database) for all facilities in the Carters supply chain with the goal of producing analysis and recommendations to reduce global risk in the supply chain.
  • Integrate the CSR program with the Sourcing and Licensing departments to improve audit results and assist with supplier selection.
  • Perform outreach activities, including engagement with other brands, NGOs and international labor organizations.
  • Prepare quarterly updates for the Board of Directors meetings.
  • Identify need for and conduct training on policy requirements for both internal and external partners.
  • Research other CSR opportunities, including sustainability initiatives
  • Communication with all levels of the organization from lower level up to the CEO, Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage annual budget of the Program.
  • Currently, no direct reports.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Ability to project manage and coordinate efforts of diverse work teams to get required results.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Integrity and objectivity – ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Progressive experience in social responsibility, sustainability and/or sourcing; program management experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree.
