Corporate Director, Environment – Denmark

Acre has been engaged by Vestas, the world’s leading producer of wind turbines, to secure an individual who will guide the firm globally on environmental and sustainability issues. This is a broad role and key to Vestas establishing an international reputation for its sustainability strategy; therefore applicants must be at the very top of their profession.

The key responsibilities of the role include:
* Driving greater environmental accountability into the companies supply chains
* Helping to define and drive internal environmental awareness and best practice
* Developing, implementing and driving a one-Vestas environmental management system
* Prevention of pollution at its source through implementation of best management practices and resource conservation

We are interested to speak with driven professionals who have worked at a senior level, probably in an in-house role and who have experience of managing projects and initiatives from cradle to grave. In particular you must have:
* Extensive and broad environmental and sustainability experience
* Experience in the successful implementation and management of an environmental management system
* Experience and an understanding of full product life cycle, focusing on environmental risk and opportunity
* A strong educational background – preferably to MSc level or equivalent
* The ability to engage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders (including NGOs and the UN Global Compact)
* A track record of leadership, an appetite for a challenge and the ability to self direct
