Seagate is seeking an experienced Human Resources / Compliance professional to support Seagate’s global compliance initiatives in the areas of Human Rights, Global Citizenship and Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC). This position will be located in Singapore or Malaysia.
Responsibilities Include:
* Partner with Seagate sites around the globe, with particular focus on Asia manufacturing sites, regarding meeting Human Rights, Global Citizenship, Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition Code of Conduct, and national legislative requirements.
* Support the development and implementation of training and awareness tools on Human Rights and EICC compliance within Seagate, and with Seagate’s Labor Suppliers, where applicable
* Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to Human resources staff on EICC and Global Citizenship compliance requirements.
* In partnership with the respective Human Resource functions, monitor and modify Seagate policies or practices where required, to identify and address any gaps in GC/EICC and legal compliance. Monitor Contract Labor Supplier practices to ensure ongoing compliance where required.
* In partnership with the other members of Seagate’s Global HR Compliance team and Global HR teams, support the EICC and HR audit processes. Audit focus may include internal Seagate HR policies and processes, EICC audits, as well as external HR Supplier audits. Specific activities and responsibilities may range from interpreting audit requirements and providing guidance on audit preparations
* For any required audit corrective actions, take an active role in guiding and helping the HR teams to come up with operationally feasible actions to address audit findings. Work with HR teams to ensure closure of corrective actions arising from audits.
* Attend and represent Seagate at external compliance related events and meetings, where appropriate.
* Provide other general support to HR Compliance and HR Policy Management activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
* A minimum of 7-9 years experience including significant experience in human resources.
* Prior experience in HR Compliance or Internal Audit strongly desired.
* Bachelors degree.
* The ability to influence diverse organizations and drive HR compliance at multiple sites.
* Have a compliance mindset and ability to stand by compliance requirements.
* Strong attention to detail and results orientation.
* Must be a self-starter, organized and able to manage multiple projects to established deadlines.
* Excellent team player with the ability to also work independently.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including written and spoken English skills
* Strong systems and computer application skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, word
* Familiarity with the labor laws in Singapore, Malaysia, China and Thailand strongly desired
* Willingness to travel, particularly within Asia region, but may also include global travel.
