„Responsibility for one world“

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

FORUM CSR international – the new magazine for the CSR professional

Munich > The problem of our times is not the globalisation of economy. It is rather the feebly established global political framework within which economy takes place. When you remember your business class at university, all the so-called externalities – global warming, degradation of soil, antibiotics in the groundwater, exploited fishing grounds, to name but a few – were not relevant for business. “The business of business is business”, as Milton Friedman put it. Until today this neoliberal “truth” is the reigning doctrine in most companies. But times are a changing.

FORUM CSR international introduces the topic „Responsibility for one world“ with greeting words by prominent international political representatives like Stavros Dimas, Günther Verheugen and the Queen of Jordan, Rania Al Abdullah. Renowned authors, like the trend-scout Klaus Burmeister answer questions about why CSR will be the megatrend in the economy of the future.Experts like Sabine Braun of akzente kommunikation shed a light on the different faces of CSR.

In FORUM Practice we discuss the strategic orientation of CSR and highlight relevant subject areas like life cycle analysis and supply chain management, reporting and compliance issues, Green IT and HR management. We point out solutions to climate change, energy efficiency, communities and socially responsible investment. In the chapter Social Entrepreneurship we present you with the future of responsible economic acting. We portrait Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia and one of the pioneers of the LOHAS movement and get to the bottom of Greenwashing. Networking for the Future presents you the international promoters for responsible economic behaviour.
