The current contract for the administrative home of the International Association for Business and Society ends in January 2008. We are now actively accepting applications for IABS administrative home for the term February 2008-August 2011.
The responsibilities of the administrative home include:
Maintain competence with current software requirements (primarily QuickBooks, Excel, and Front Page)
Fulfill routine inquiries and requests for information or materials from members, potential members, and vendors
Perform bookkeeping functions, maintain financial records, and provide interim financial reports as required by the Board, Treasurer, Accountant, and/or Audit Committee
Pay bills for general operations and annual conferences
Support registration function for annual conference; manage records and payments for the annual conference, manage onsite conference registration. Support conference chair as needed.
Coordinate as needed with external auditors, the IABS Audit Committee, and Accountant
Provide updates, support, and maintenance of the IABS website
Serve as liaison with the Philosophy Documentation Center
IABS pays the administrative home $7,500.00 per year to cover its expenses.
In order to submit an application, please provide the following material:
A letter of application on behalf of the institutional sponsor. This letter should outline the resources that the sponsor can offer, the history of the relationship of the institutional sponsor with IABS, and relevant experience with other academic organizations.
An institutional letter of support from the dean or director of the school that will host the administrative home.
A C.V. of the representative of the institutional sponsor who will serve as the Executive Director.
Unfortunately, given the nature of the duties of the administrative home, which include banking responsibilities, the administrative home must be located in a U.S.-based institution.
