Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are delighted to announce the launch of the first Call for Contributions for the 2007 EABIS Colloquium, which will take place at ESADE Business School in Barcelona on September 20 and 21. We hereby invite papers and research presentations from academics across a wide range of disciplines and reflective practitioners from business, government and civil society. The following documents can be downloaded here: www.eabis.org/csrplatform/colloquium/2007

  • Full version of the 2007 Call for Contributions for all stakeholders
  • Guidelines for Inputs from Business, Government, NGO and Other Practitioners
  • Official Submission Form
  • Conference Theme
Our thematic focus in 2007 is on global governance and its implications for business in the 21st century. In recent years, important questions have been raised about the balance in relationships between regulators, companies and their stakeholder groups. This year’s Colloquium will draw upon thought leadership across different disciplines, including political science and international relations, to support an in-depth debate of these questions. It will by extension promote multi-stakeholder partnership initiatives, thought leadership and cutting-edge research that seek long-term, business-relevant best theories and practices.

    Call for Contributions
We remain at an early stage in our understanding of the opportunities for business that global governance can create, as well as the impact of related frameworks and approaches on corporate strategy and management. The attached Call for Contributions is therefore intended to deliver insight, learning and understanding around the practical implications for business of global governance in the context of such pressing issues as:

  • The balance between standards, competition and regulation
  • Climate change
  • Energy security
  • Human rights
  • Inequality
  • Through this Call, we seek to examine the impact on business in society at the following three levels:

  • The Global, Supranational, International & Industry Sector Level
  • The National, Sub-National, Local/Regional and City Level
  • Company and Individual Manager/Executive Level
  • Please refer to Pages 10 – 14 of the Call for a more detailed explanation of the conceptual and thematic frameworks. Key Dates and More Information Please note the following key dates for submitting contributions to the 2007 EABIS Colloquium:
