Location: Corporate Office, Hoffman Estates, IL

Job Title: Regulatory Review Manager

Department: Regulatory Compliance

Reports to: Director of Regulatory Review

Is travel required for incumbents to successfully perform this job? Yes
If Yes, how often: > 10%

General purpose: This position will provide technical assistance and support to schools to ensure continued compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements at the institutional level.

Scope: Overall improvement and monitoring of accreditation and regulatory affairs to safeguard the current and future growth of CEC operations and educational programs.

Essential functions/responsibilities: This Regulatory Review Manager (RRM) position will provide technical assistance and support to schools to ensure compliance with state, accreditation, and federal regulations as well as CEC expectations. This will include interpretation and application of existing laws as well as monitoring legislative activity for potential changes that could impact CEC schools. In addition, the RRM will review enrollment agreements, will facilitate the standardization of admissions documents, and will serve as a liaison with the admissions function to ensure compliance in these areas. Another main area of emphasis will be the ongoing development, implementation, and operational support of the company-wide ethics function under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer.

Qualifications:
Skills and abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and apply multiple sets of regulations to an individual situation
  • Excellent written and oral communication, project management, computer, conceptual, and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with organized and methodical work habits
  • Timely in providing response to requests for approval
  • Decisiveness, flexibility, and an ability to adapt to an environment of intense growth and change.
  • The ability to sell concepts and ideas without having direct control or responsibility in all instances
  • Knowledge of and experience with accreditation and state licensing standards is preferred, but not required
  • Experience
    At least 3 years related professional experience

    Education
    J.D. preferred; bachelor’s degree required.

    Primary Duties:

  • Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, develop, implement, and support the company-wide ethics function
  • Monitor state and federal legislation to identify potential changes and evaluate the impact on CEC and its schools. Facilitate follow-up activities as appropriate at both the corporate and school levels.
  • Provide overall support to the review of admissions-related activities including activity related to enrollment agreements and admissions automation, including e-sign.
  • Provide compliance support to schools as assigned by the Director of Regulatory Review.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Physical Demands:
    Fast paced, high customer service demand with a great deal of people interaction. No lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching, bending and stooping.
