Camelot, operator of the UK National Lottery, has a long track record in transparent and innovative corporate responsibility reporting. The company has just published its 7th Corporate Responsibility Report which is available online at www.camelotgroup.co.uk/crreport2006 and tries to answer questions such as ‘How can you sell more tickets and protect vulnerable players at the same time?’ or ‘Isn’t it difficult to motivate staff when they might be out of a job if your licence ends?’

The company has demonstrated significant achievements in 2005/06, and it also recognises that it faces some challenges ahead such as the competition for the next lottery licence in the coming year. Growing returns to Good Causes while at the same time providing leading edge player protection and pioneering new ways to engage with their stakeholders remain at the heart of Camelot’s corporate responsibility activities and the establishment of the Players’ Forum, a consultative consumer group is another example of how the company continuously innovates their stakeholder engagement practices.

The report is independently assured by The Reassurance Network using the AA1000AS Standard and is drawn up in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative’s G3 Draft Guidelines.
