CLIMATE CHANGE: HOW TO GET YOUR COMPANY’S MESSAGE ACROSS TO CONSUMERS

Top corporations will gather in London on 7-8 March 2007 to debate climate change communications at a cutting edge conference announced today by Ethical Corporation. The carbon neutral conference will debate the best way to engage consumers in climate change, and will be a ‘must attend’ event for business in these increasingly climate-aware times.
Climate change is going to dominate the 21st Century. And business must help lead the way in helping to change consumer attitudes and behaviour – the cost of failing to do so, according to the British government’s Stern Report, could result in an economic depression worse than that of the 1930s or both world wars.
A recent MORI poll showed that 82% of consumers prefer environmentally responsible companies- Climate change is becoming a major concern for the general public, and it is essential that business communicate on the issue. Not dealing with this issue now puts business at risk and will shift advantages to ‘greener’ corporations.
For the first time, a major conference is being held to discuss how best to communicate to consumers and raise the green profile of businesses. Cross-industry participation has been secured from key players including BP, Procter & Gamble, Ford, Virgin Atlantic, DHL, Barclays, Co-Operative Group and Ben & Jerry’s.
Topics to be discussed at this highly interactive and off-the-record forum will include:
The Consumer reaction to climate change campaigns – past, present and future * Carbon Offsetting - the new fair trade? * Corporate reputation and climate change… are you at risk? * Local government and you – a match made in heaven? * Your carbon emissions: The best way to disclose them, and why you should * How to measure your success – the effectiveness of climate change communications.

Registration for the event is open now - companies can secure their participation via this same website.
