Coca-Cola Company publishes CR Review - ReportAlert.info

The Coca-Cola Company recently published its Corporate Responsibility Review. The report outlines the Company’s vision and strategy for corporate responsibility and how it is integrated into day-to-day business, with a special emphasis on people and the planet. Leading external standards, notably those of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), guided the development of the report which covers corporate responsibility performance from January 2005 to July 2006.

In addition to providing detail on the Company’s initiatives and progress in the area of corporate responsibility, the report provides information on actions being taken by the Company to address concerns and expectations raised by external stakeholders. These include:

  • the Company’s pledge to support the United Nations Global Compact
  • the first Coca-Cola Company Workplace Rights Policy, to be finalized and implemented in 2006
  • a partnership with private and public sectors to found the Global Water Challenge to improve water access and sanitation to people in critical need;
  • the expansion of Coca-Cola HIV/AIDS workplace and community education programs beyond Africa to countries in Asia and Europe;
  • The Coca-Cola Company is the world’s largest beverage company. Along with Coca-Cola, recognized as the world’s most valuable brand, the Company markets four of the world’s top five soft-drink brands, including Diet Coke, Fanta and Sprite, and a wide range of other beverages, including diet and light soft drinks, waters, juices and juice drinks, teas, coffees and sports drinks. Through the world’s largest beverage distribution system, consumers in more than 200 countries enjoy the Company’s beverages at a rate exceeding 1 billion servings each day.
