KBC Group’s second Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report is now available in English at www.kbc.com/social_responsibility in PDF or HTML format. The report focuses on KBC’s CSR performance in the areas of corporate governance, business ethics, employee practices, environmental stewardship and community activities for the full 2005 calendar year. The scope has now been extended to include KBC’s operations in both Belgium and Central and Eastern Europe, the two home markets, representing over 70% of gross income and staff. Moreover, the report has been assured for the first time by Ernst & Young.
Specifically, it is structured in accordance with the 2002 Global Reporting Initiative guidelines and the key performance indicators are presented in consolidated form for both 2004 and 2005 to increase transparency and enable comparability. It additionally highlights individual initiatives taken at KBC in Belgium and at one or more of the Central and Eastern European units. KBC aims to continue to extend future reporting coverage to its operations in Western Europe and other parts of the world.
KBC is an integrated multi-channel bancassurance group, catering mainly for retail customers, small and medium-sized enterprises and private banking clientele.
