Tesco publishes CR Review 2006 - ReportAlert.info!

Tesco PLC has published its fifth Corporate Responsibility Review, which can be downloaded from its website at [1] www.tesco.com/cr

Among highlights, the report shows that Tesco:

  • set up a £100million fund for sustainable environmental technology;
  • achieved sector leadership in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index;
  • entered the Dow Jones Sustainability and Ethibel Indices;
  • became the leading food and drug retailer in the Carbon Disclosure Project;
  • joined the Climate Change Leadership Group;
  • strengthened its corporate responsibility management by launching a ‘Community Plan’ and rolling out a corporate responsibility management system to its international operations;
  • expanded nutritional labelling with a view to encouraging customers to make healthier choices;
  • launched its ‘Sport for Schools and Clubs’ programme to encourage healthy activity.
