Tesco PLC has published its fifth Corporate Responsibility Review, which can be downloaded from its website at www.tesco.com/cr
Among highlights, the report shows that Tesco:
set up a £100million fund for sustainable environmental technology;
achieved sector leadership in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index;
entered the Dow Jones Sustainability and Ethibel Indices;
became the leading food and drug retailer in the Carbon Disclosure Project;
joined the Climate Change Leadership Group;
strengthened its corporate responsibility management by launching a ‘Community Plan’ and rolling out a corporate responsibility management system to its international operations;
expanded nutritional labelling with a view to encouraging customers to make healthier choices;
launched its ‘Sport for Schools and Clubs’ programme to encourage healthy activity.
