A statement from a group of Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) firms;
Expanded reporting on Citigroup’s Environmental and Social Risk Management (ESRM) Policy and Equator Principles implementation;
A case study on ISAGEN, a Colombian power company and client, highlighting input by our ESRM team that added value while demonstrating the business case for sustainability;
A commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10% on a global basis by 2011;
Microfinance Group deals such as a $50 million local currency structured bond program for Financiera Compartamos, Mexico’s leading microfinance institution;
Establishment of a team of SRI Analysts to research environmental and social themes affecting major companies, and integrate findings into Citigroup’s equity research and investment processes;
Nearly $30 million awarded to support financial education programs in 68 countries, in the second year of Citigroup’s $200 million 10-year commitment to support financial education globally;
Financing offered by Citibank Community Development (CCD) for affordable housing and community revitalization projects across the U.S. grew to nearly $2.8 billion, with a record amount of community development investments exceeding $700 million; and
Triple-bottom-line accounting of Citigroup’s performance in 2005.
