RWE AG today publishes its second bi-annual Corporate Responsibility Report, available online and in pdf form
from www.rwe.com/responsibility.
The report marks a further step in RWE’s approach to implement a Group-wide corporate responsibility strategy. The report is based on the six issues which RWE has defined as the key areas of action for the Group: climate protection, social responsibility, stakeholder dialogue, sustainability management, resource efficiency, biodiversity. RWE´s contribution to climate protection, the top ranking issue, is described in detail. Marketplace and workplace are further topics of the report.
The report has been fully verified for the first time. Assurance has been provided by PricewaterhouseCoopers, based on the principles of the German Institute of Certified Public Accountants, AA1000 AS and the Global Reporting Initiative.
The report looks at RWE´s own Code of Conduct which serves two purposes: First, it encourages every single employee to take responsibility for his or her actions and it seeks to provide them with appropriate guidance. Second, it outlines the goals and principles which guide the business activities of the RWE Group. The Code of Conduct is in line with the principles of the UN Global Compact of which RWE is a member.
The report sets out the management structure for corporate responsibility within the RWE Group and the actions to further improve CR management. For both energy and water business areas the report addresses the most important challenges and the corresponding actions taken by RWE. Additional information can be downloaded from the website.
