Legal & General’s latest CSR Report is now available at

This is Legal & General’s fourth CSR Report, and it incorporates much of the feedback received on previous reports. It gives detailed information on key stakeholders, such as customers and employees, as well as Legal & General’s approach to the environment and Socially Responsible Investment. For each area the Report sets out the company’s core CSR principles and values, identifies the most significant issues, documents progress in 2005 and sets out plans and goals for 2006.

Key highlights of the last year include:

  • Revision of CSR Guiding Principles.
  • Increased focus on treating customers fairly and embedding a customer-focused culture.
  • Increased participation in Give As You Earn scheme to over 10% of the company.
  • Participation in pilot project to encourage staff to make or increase pension contributions.
  • Strengthening of Partnership Agreement with trade union, Amicus.
  • Replacement of 100% virgin copier paper with product manufactured from 100% post consumer waste.
  • Extending scope of report to give more information on overseas operations.
