HP’s 2006 Global Citizenship Report is now available on the company’s website at [1] www.hp.com/go/report.

The report describes the company’s global citizenship activities worldwide and charts the company’s progress, as well as challenges, for the 2005 fiscal year.

Updates on HP’s three global citizenship priorities are outlined in detail: reducing product environmental impacts, raising social and environmental responsibility standards in the supply chain, and increasing access to information technology. Milestones achieved in these areas in fiscal 2005 include:

- Recycling 140 million pounds of computer hardware and print cartridges - nearly 17 percent more than in 2004 - which represents clear progress towards the company’s goal of recycling one billion pounds of materials by the end of 2007.

  • The completion of 85 audits against the company’s supplier code of conduct in China, Czech Republic, Hungary, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland and Thailand, exceeding HP’s goal to audit 75 sites.
  • Increased access to information technology in more than 40 countries across six continents through HP’s e-inclusion and philanthropy and education initiatives.
  • The report further describes how HP delivers on their commitment to global citizenship by conducting business with uncompromising integrity; engaging with a variety of external stakeholders; providing resources to improve access to technology and educational opportunities; developing products and services that are environmentally sustainable; and protecting the privacy of our customers, partners and employees.
