CONNECTED BY FOOTBALL - Social and Environmental Report 2005

The adidas Group has published its sixth Social and Environmental Report “Connected by football’ which can be downloaded from the corporate sustainability website:

www.adidas-Group.com/en/sustainability/reporting/report […]

In World Cup year football is everywhere, everyone follows their team, we are all ‘connected by football’. Reflecting the recent business focus the 2005 Social and Environmental Report uses football to tell the story of the Group’s efforts to become a sustainable business.

Through a range of case studies and examples taken from football factories the company shows how its business partners have been taking responsibility for complying with the Group’s standards and how adidas supports them in achieving self-governance.

The football theme also guided the adidas Group in reporting about challenges and achievements in managing the responsibilities towards its employees, for the environment and the communities where the company
operates.

This year the adidas Group has shortened the printed report and placed more information on its corporate website

www.adidas-Group.com/en/sustainability/welcome.asp.

There may be some readers who wish to have hard copies of all the information published about the social and environmental performance, including what is published online. To meet that need, a pdf of most of the website content about sustainability was created and is posted for downloading on the website.

To order a hard copy of the report or to provide any feedback about the social and environmental affairs programme and its reporting please direct your request to sustainability@adidas.de.

The adidas Group is a global leader in the sporting goods industry and offers a broad portfolio of products in footwear, apparel and hardware. Activities of the company and its more than 80 subsidiaries are directed
from the Group’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
