CasePlace Unveils Site Upgrade - case studies and related materials on corporate social responsibility, sustainability and business ethics

Wednesday, March 1st, 2006

NEW YORK — CasePlace (www.caseplace.org) – the leading Web-based resource for case studies and related materials on corporate social responsibility, sustainability and business ethics for business school faculty and students – today unveiled an updated home page design and many new features for registered users.

The user-friendly home page now includes a What’s New section that spotlights the most recent additions to the site, including new case studies, commentaries and other reference materials. All content on the site is easily searchable by topic, discipline (marketing, operations, etc.) or keyword, and several Featured Collections are available on topical issues such as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina or Ethics in Advertising.

Another new feature is a selection of in-depth profiles of distinguished b-school professors – known as Faculty Pioneers – who are leaders in integrating social and environmental issues into their research and teaching. Among the faculty included are:

  • Stuart L. Hart, S.C. Johnson Professor of Sustainable Global Enterprise, Professor of Management, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University;
  • James Austin, Eliot I. Snider and Family Professor of Business Administration Founding Co-Chair, Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Initiative, Harvard Business School, Harvard University; and
  • Sandra Waddock, Associate Professor of Operations, Information and Technology at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
  • Testimonials from leading b-school faculty and students have also been incorporated into the revamped design.

    CasePlace surpassed an all-time record number of user registrations – more than 10,000 – near the end of 2005. Compared with the previous year, the number of unique monthly visitors in December 2005 increased by 40 percent, and total page views increased 45 percent.

    “We’re thrilled that the b-school community is rapidly adopting the comprehensive resources available at CasePlace for understanding and promoting the principles of social impact management at leading schools worldwide,” said Amy Lawrence, Director of CasePlace.
