The European Business Ethics Network was established in 1987 as a cross-European network of academics and practitioners. Since then, many national associations have been launched, affiliating to the European parent body. eben also runs an annual conference in a major European city, a research conference and other events.

At this moment eight National EBEN Chapters exist in The Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Italy, Turkey and Greece. They are affiliated to EBEN, but have their own conferences, seminars and other networking events. Other networks are planned in a number of European countries.
