The Centre for Corporate Governance (formerly Private Sector Corporate Governance Trust) is an independent, not-for-profit organization established by the Private Sector Initiative for Corporate Governance in 1999. The Centre, which also serves as the interim secretariat of the Pan African Corporate Governance Forum, is affiliated to the Commonwealth Association for Corporate Governance (CACG).
The Centre seeks to improve the quality of life in Kenya and the entire African continent by fostering the highest corporate governance standards in corporations of all types. It endeavours to achieve this through training, education, awareness raising and research.

Objectives
Promote, stimulate, advocate and co-ordinate the development, articulation and implementation of good Corporate Governance principles and practices
Establish sustainable institutional frameworks to facilitate the implementation, policing and enforcing compliance with the highest standards, principles and practices of good corporate governance and serve as a resource and data centre on corporate governance in Africa
Co-operate and co-ordinate with other organizations with similar aims and objectives within and without the continent to advance the cause of good corporate governance
Create public awareness and sensitize corporate leaders and policy makers on the need for good corporate governance
Promote research studies in any subject or matter of interest to corporate governance practices with a view to identifying and replicating good practices for enhanced corporate performance
Facilitate the development and implementation of appropriate educational, training and development programmes aimed at enhancing the performance of corporate leaders and policy makers in all sectors of the economy
Provide and create an institutional framework for the evaluation, monitoring, recognition and otherwise encourage corporations to embrace corporate governance principles and practices
Raise funds and other resources from all possible sources for the performance of the above objectives and to set up a self-perpetuating endowment fund to ensure future sustainability
Mandate
To stimulate and facilitate the adoption, promotion and implementation of the highest standards of Corporate Governance in African through coordinated programmes, collaborative networks and enhanced regional cooperation
To assist national action plans relevant to the promotion, implementation and application of highest standards of Corporate Governance by providing technical and other support relevant to institution and capacity building
Acting as a service institution and clearing house for information on Corporate Governance, providing technical support, fostering exchange of ideas and experience and supporting regional and sub-regional research, information and training networks
