The Centre for Business and Professional Ethics (CBPE) in the University of Leeds was established in 1989 with a membership drawn from the Faculties of Arts, Economics, Social Studies, Civil Engineering, Law and Medicine. It has developed many courses for undergraduates covering a range of different ethical concerns, including business, environmental, medical, media, and scientific. The CBPE has organised conferences on ethical issues in medicine, the media and business. Its MA in Health Care Ethics is a leader in the field, having been run successfully since 1990. It is developing links with other centres, both internal to the University (such as the Centre for International Business), and externally such as the (Association d’Economie Financière in Paris).
