The Centre for Applied Ethics is a part of Linköping University, Sweden. Here, researchers and teachers unite in order to work together with the new ethical questions. The research projects covers different issues in applied ethics like computer ethics, research ethics, ethics and politics, animal and environmental ethics, ethics and genetically engineering and ethics and globalisation. New projects that are under planning deal with the theory and method of applied ethics, in particular the method of reflective equilibrium and professional ethics.
The teaching covers courses in ethics and applied ethic inside and outside off the university. The centre has also established institutional contacts with the regional health board of Östergötland and the city of Norrköping. There is also a co-operation with ethical centres and departments in Sweden and abroad. Presently, we are involved in the development of a European master degree in applied ethics.
